Chuckle Merry Spin – Book Review

About the book

When Khyrunnisa and her husband, VK, decide to travel to the U.S. for their daughter-in-law’s graduation ceremony, they enthusiastically throw themselves into the preparations. Very much at home in their beloved Thiruvananthapuram, the duo has never before travelled abroad. Visas procured and warm clothes packed, they set forth. And what an adventure it turns out to be—full of peculiar restaurant rules, tipping norms, confusing subway stations, interesting places and entertaining conversations.

In this relatable and giggle-inducing travelogue, Khyrunnisa returns to doing what she does best—finding humour in everyday life. We chuckle along and shake our heads in recognition, as we accompany her from one destination to another. Keenly observed and hilariously narrated, Chuckle Merry Spin is suffused with the joy of adventure and the warmth of friends and family. A book for all times.

The Thank You Blog Review

I always thought writing humor was super hard, as humor, the happy emotion finds better expression when spoken, as the tone, language, mood, timing of the speaker, and how the listener understands altogether make humor work.

Making the reader relate through emotions and sentiments well-written is what a great writer does.

The author has completely changed my perspective as she has written this travelogue in the wittiest way possible. She has made her reader laugh, think, relate and experience the U.S travel along with her.

Chuckle Merry Spin – The Thank You Blog Review

Right from day one, she has written her experience of traveling to the U.S with her husband for her daughter-in-law’s graduation ceremony in the most realistic way.

When she takes us through different places around the country, We can visualize the journey as she describes the places she visits, the people she meets, the friends she catches up with, and even their friend’s pets that befriend her.

Personally, when I travel to new places, food stays at the top of my mind next to the site seeing it.
When the author Khyrunnisa, speaks about food, be it the octopus at the restaurant or the traditional Indian food prepared by her friends, I can see her agreeing with my idea that food always adds more humanness undoubtedly.

In all her new travel destinations, be it Neenah, Fond du lac, Door country, Green Bay, Madison Square, the museums, or the main convocation event at Syracuse University, Newyork, their primary reason for visiting the country where the statue of liberty stands tall,
the visit to MIT, Havard, Google, The beautiful Niagara, Shakesphere play in Chicago, San Francisco, San Jose, Wisconsin, or about almost every place she has visited in the U.S,
you can find the foreign-return author, with her words, paints a picture in the minds of her reader in the most effective manner.

Her way of writing follows the most realistic and Indianised style when she writes about her husband’s conversations with cab drivers who escort them throughout the country.

When the author said about her friends and friend’s wife in the U.S working for Google, Cisco and Microsoft, I felt the truth ringing in my mind making me proud that the most well-read and skilled Indians are in the USA.

A travelogue could be an interesting read only for a globetrotter but this funny tale of travel would get you laughing with the author as it explores not just places, and experiences but food, people, conversations wowen with the perfect blend of humor & wit.

After all the blog posts I write today will be ranked by Google, headed by an Indian-born American Ceo.

Although I am not a hodophile, this book sparked an interest in me to visit America and see how the famous multinational technology company and its search engine work.
So I would learn the secret of how to rank my blog post within the first three pages shown as results on google. Hahaha. I think I have tried writing some humor.

Although the truth for ranking better is consistent yet persistent writing.

Get your copy of the chuckle merry spin book here and experience your laughter-filled takeoff journey to the U.S as you flip your pages sitting in any part of the world.

I thank both the author and blogchatter for giving me the opportunity of reading and reviewing the book.
