My mother gets into a confusion with these food labels and their significance while we choose or shop them. i too wanted to gather knowledge an help her to utilize the very use of food labels and other things associated with it.
These days people have entered into mindfulness and so they are very aware of what they are doing and eating. For the latter, careful scrutiny of the labels is very essential to lead a healthy life.
I am a major label reader. I have been this way since childhood! Not only food, I tend to read labels of every single pack that comes in my hand.
As someone with food allergies, it is imperative that I read food labels each time. I had also wriiten a post on the same. Is this your theme for A2Z? Would love to check out your posts.
Yes partially but dont know if I could make it for A2Z this year. Still doubtful
Go for it! Haven’t participated yet but mom did. It was fun although exhausting.
Aunty is super talented 😍
This is a very important topic you have raised. I have seen many people want to eat “healthier” and lose weight not realizing that the marketing for a lot of so called healthy brands hides the fact that the ingredients of their products are not optimal. Thanks for sharing
Your article posts will be so helpful for all of us. Reading food labels is very tricky and most of the times we get fooled by the class preservatives and contents. Looking forward to your posts.
I am label person. I do read labels including ingredients and all. Since my baby moon period I am more cautious
Health is wealth and so whatever I buy be it for regular kitchen grocery or something for occasional feast from shop its my tendency or you may say habit to read the labels. There are countless things that you will get to know when you minutely read the contents on the labels. It will give you a fair idea about : Servings, Calories, Nutrients and % Daily Value (DV). You need to buy a product if it suits the requirements of your health parameter
I am a great believer in homemade food. I stay away from packaged food as much as possible. I am a vegetarian and prefer to eat at home. Yes, I know about the red and green .symbols to differentiate between veg and non-veg. usually, the ingredients written are tiny and barely readable.
This is a good thing you’re doing. We often don’t pay attention to food labels. I would love if you could concentrate on saturated fats and sodium content and show us how to read and understand them.
The food labels are written in fine print. I think they should be in bigger font, to make it easy for the older shopper. Also, I feel your post should give complete details of what the guidelines for the food labels are.
U know now different kind of short names are put it for ingredients added and its so scary when u go to reading in detail. This upcoming post will definitely be very helpful for everyone battling in this real world for real food.
Looking forward to your post Sivaranjini…
My daughter has food allergies so we always check labels when we try something new. I wish they were not written in such a small lettering. It is impossible for people my age to read it.
That is great. Will surely look forward to reading your posts regarding food labeling and being better prepared and wiser when choosing nutritional requirements for myself and my family.
Upon seeing our weight at the airport 2 weeks ago (which shocked us!!!) when we brought my parents flying back to the Philippines, we vowed to take our health more seriously and that includes looking at food labels. Your article came up just in time and was really helpful for more insights. =)
I would read food labels to manage weight, that was many years ago. Now we have stopped buying packaged foods and focus on locally grown produce and homemade dishes.
Understanding food labels is crucial in making informed decisions about what we eat, and it can be overwhelming with the vast array of symbols and information on food packaging. I am excited to read more about the meaning of different symbols in food labeling, how to choose between products bearing food labels, and what to look for when reading a food label.
I would suggest covering topics like the importance of checking serving sizes, how to interpret the information on the ingredient list, understanding the different types of fat and their impact on health, and how to identify added sugars. Overall, I look forward to learning more about food labels and making better choices for my health.
Hope to read your post soon.
