About the Book
Dhruv’s life changes forever when the five senses appear before him, revealing that he has lived many lives… and that he is the Sixth Sense, born to restore balance to creation itself.
But when love and betrayal follow him across worlds… from modern-day Kolkata to the lost kingdoms of another time… Dhruv discovers that destiny is never simple. Every lifetime has left a mark, every love a wound, and every choice, a consequence.
This is the second and final book in the series, following The Sorcery of the Senses.
The Thank You Blog Review
In book two, “The Loopiness Of Life”, protagonist Druv continues to learn about his past lives. With the guidance of the five senses, he searches for the holy stone.
Druv, while viewing his past life, is able to witness why he died in vain before completing the task of joining the holy stone.
Unlike in Part One, The Sorcery of the Senses, where Druv is depicted as a lonely person struggling to cope with separation, loneliness and personal grief, Part Two eventually becomes wholesome when Druv reunites with his wife Juthika and bonds with his little son Rhodalph, giving a happy ever after vibe to the novel.
A sneak peek of Druv’s previous lives:
As Bisut Ru, he marries the princess with his power of reading the weather but dies without completing his mission. Karnimaduk, the selfish queen, creates unrest and makes life difficult for him.
As Wrig, he runs for his life with the hope of survival, but there is only betrayal that results from each and every person, be it the cruel Daaba-Daaba or Damahul, whom he wrongly believes is a kind-hearted and righteous man.
However, the elephant, fish, crow, and snake befriended and helped him in various ways in his previous lives, demonstrating that animals are far superior to humans. But in all his previous lives, he identifies Juthika and realises that the bond they share is strong and they are destined to be together.
However, Druv’s pursuit tastes the fruit of success with the help of Juthika. Travelling across the seas and with Juthika’s magical power to feel the magnetic field of the objects she touches, they both complete the task given to Druv.
This fantasy fiction story has many unique names given to characters that sound funny, but it successfully conveys the make-believe factor of being in a fantasy world with the help of the author’s creative imagination power, which is reflected in every well-written word. As readers turn the pages, the characters’ struggles, hardships, and journey lead them through the enchanting yet humanly emotional storyline.
Bringing It All Together
Tamina Das’s fantasy novel emphasises that life is a loop that we must navigate to make ends meet. And no matter what, the person who is meant to be with you will be there for you or eventually reach out to you again, regardless of which life you live.
This book is power-packed entertainment, set against a fantasy backdrop with a hint of magic and surprises along the way. It features supernatural elements, past lives, reincarnation guided by the five senses, being born with special powers, and being able to communicate with animals. However, each life of the protagonist is filled with challenges, hardships, loss, pain, and lessons.
If you are a fantasy-loving person, then this novel must surely be your next read.
