3 Compelling reasons to Why Ana foods Millet khichdi your Convenient Comfort food.

The Thank You Blog Review for Ana Foods Kodo Millet-Samba Rava Khichdi

Although Indian food is popular for its variety, taste, and flavor, we all occasionally crave simple comfort food like the rasam rice when you return from the hostel or curd rice with simple tempering has its own unique charm because it is true that good food ultimately finds its way to the heart through the mouth.

Today’s post is about khichdi, one of the oldest and most nutrient-dense meals that has been popular since the time that the famous witty poet and Minister Tenali Rama resided in Krishnadevaraya’s kingdom or when Birbal cooked Khichdi to get justice in Akbar’s Kingdom in the 15th Century.
Khichdi is prepared in a variety of ways, and the ingredients are tweaked according to the preferences of the people who live in the different parts of our country. Some prefer dhal khichdi, and some prefer the Rava/Semiya variant.

The two most common types of khichdi, Rava khichdi and Semiya khichdi, are familiar to me because I am from south India. Which kind of Khichdi is your favorite, and why is it your go-to comfort food? Please share in the comments section.

In today’s blog post, I’ll let you know about a healthier Khichdi combination. You might think, “What could be Khichdi’s healthier alternative?” considering the fact that it is already a healthful choice due to its use of vegetables and minimal oil.

Despite the fact that khichdi could not be a favorite breakfast for many, what other than khichdi could come to rescue after a long day of travel or staying away from home?

From Ana Food’s millet breakfast series, this week we will learn about Kodo millet—Samba Rava khichdi which gets ready in about 10 minutes.

Top 3 compelling reasons why you should try the Kodo Millet Khichdi from Ana Foods

  1. Kodo millet contains a lot of prebiotic fibers, which promote a healthy gut and improved digestion.
  2. Kodo millet also has protein, calcium, and B vitamins in addition to iron, which helps to prevent anemia.
  3. Samba Rava made from whole wheat, another ingredient, also possesses comparably similar beneficial qualities, including dietary fibers, a low gluten content, and a low glycemic index, which transforms this khichdi from Ana Foods into a comfort food with twice the goodness.

While this breakfast is diabetic friendly, helps in weight management and could be in your comfort food list. The blogpost for upcoming weeks would be children’s favorite.

My take on the kodo Millet samba Rava khichdi

It is a perfect evening meal that could become even more appetizing with carrots, onions and a few fresh curry leaves.

Kodo Millet samba Rava khichdi sounds like an easy to go choice for people in love with khichri. And I need to give it a try and let you know my experience. Now coming to what type of Khichri I like… you know here in Bengali Puja’s we prepare a typical Khichri with Gobindobhog rice and Musur dal and vegetables. It is given as Bhog to god/goddesses and it tastes divine. It is mostly served in big Puja’s like Durga Puja and even in Saraswati Puja along with another typical sabzi which we call as Chachra. I just love that ……. Its absolute pleasure to enjoy such Khichri

What a co incidence Sivaranjini… my younger daughter had an upset tummy today so I prepared khichdi for her for lunch… the slightly runny type. We always make dal and rice khichdi. Kodo millet is popular in my hometown. we make rotis, porridge from its powdered version and alcoholic beverages out of it.
