Why the Stolen Necklace a Story of Undeterred Courage and Determination

The Thank You Blog Book review

According to the true tale of Thajudeen, the road to truth is the one that is paved with the most thorns and has the craziest twists and turns, but it is also the one that cannot be broken since it leads to an unbeatable victory.

The social message the true story imparts

Although the book centred mainly on how the life of the average person can be turned upside down by being falsely accused by the law, it also communicates the message of how these false accusations have a detrimental effect on victims’ lives all over the nation.

It also sheds light on how frequent these cases are even though victims may eventually receive justice, the harm they suffer can’t be compensated for with money.

After all, in the majority of these cases, the absence of a second inquiry based on the questions asked and a second round of searching for the true offender might lead to a situation where prompt justice is served and no innocent people are imprisoned for crimes they did not commit.

The battle for justice

Thajudeen is never allowed to present his side of the story, which is that he was not even close to the scene on the day the theft of the stolen necklace occurred, even though he is well aware of the fact that he was mistakenly identified as a suspect.

Despite Manesh Thajudeen’s friend’s assurances that Thajudeen couldn’t have stolen the necklace and that he is a man of values and respect, the police don’t believe him and are harsh about the made-up tale that he is the thief, which results in Thajudeen’s 54 days in jail.

Remorse & Reminiscence

Thajudeen gets a chance to reflect on his life and the values he has lived bbyeventhoughat the story is about his difficult time spent in prison. Even though loneliness is regarded as the most severe punishment, along with tears of regret and misfortune,

Thajudeen revisits his old memories of how his father Jameel played a pivotal role in his life, the experience of getting scolded for smoking a cigar for the first time, the death of his neighbour due to drugs, and the time that he met his never-to-be love, Meena. All of these incidents seem like mere life lessons to Thajudeen now.

He engages in conversation with the prisoners and shares stories of how he united with the love of his life, Nasreena, the locations he has been to, and the circumstances he has run into, which adds a sense of engrossment to his story.

The other prisoners listening to Thajudeen’s memories of Mumbai find them entertaining and interesting. Thajudeen strikes me as a practical man when he suggests that they deploy inmates as counsellors because doing so will not only help to minimize the number of crimes committed by misled youngsters but also help improve prisoners’ self-esteem.

Family – The ultimate real rock to reckon

When you struggle through your roughest days in life, you are unable to envision having anyone else by your side but your family and Thajudeen is no exception to this thanks to his devoted and caring family.

It is courage that conquers the struggles of the world

His unwavering courage in continuing to pursue justice despite the hardships he encountered not only disproves the accusations against him and establishes his innocence, but it also demonstrates that real people with unwavering courage who do not give up have an inspiring journey that cannot be compared to that of fictional heroes.

Overall, this novel is filled with a variety of emotions that help the readers grasp Thajudeen’s undeterred battle for justice and his roller-coaster trip through life’s many challenges.

Once all the struggle comes to a close and his name is cleared without any conflicts, he returns to Qutar and plans to resume his business.

He again comes across problems that eventually get resolved, and his kitchen business gets delayed, so he flies back to Kerla, showing that life is always one with unpredictable ups and downs, and the one who puts up with life without the thought of getting defeated emerges as a victor without a doubt.

The Thank You Blog Book Review for the stolen necklace

About the book

When V.K. Thajudheen, a middle-aged man working in Doha, returned to his hometown, Kannur, after a few years, little did he know that instead of celebrating his daughter’s summer wedding he would be put behind bars for stealing a gold necklace.

The local police, smug at apprehending a criminal in record time, wanted a confession to lock it in.

Horrified and bewildered, Thajudheen showed proof that he had been busy with the wedding at the time of the crime. But all proof he provided crumbled in the face of the CCTV footage from that day, for it showed clearly that it was Thajudheen on the scooter, riding away from the crime scene. But how could he be in two places at the same time?

And so started a cat-and-mouse game between Thajudheen and the police former trying to prove his innocence and the latter hell-bent on pinning the crime on Thajudheen. The media caught whiff of this case and the whole of Kannur was talking about it.
The Stolen Necklace might seem to be about a small crime in a small town, but with its incredible twists and turns, it is ultimately the story of a common man who fought the system and pulled off a miraculous victory.

Well, that’s one story which will remain with the readers for a couple of days after reading the book. The pain and depair along with the optimism is an oxymoron yet a reality that we can reckon

I have this book lying with me. Your review makes me realise that I need to speed up my reading. Real life crime is taxing on the person. Good Thajudheen was released and has also got a chance to have this reality published.

While I was reading your review Sivaranjini, I got reminded of the series called Criminal justice and a few other movies n series… where falsely accused people serve prison time. The horrors that they go through and how they come out of those nightmares… I could totally relate to this book in this regard. Must have been an interesting read this one.

Your review beautifully captures the essence of “The Stolen Necklace.” Thajudeen’s story of being wrongfully locked up and his thoughts while he was there give the story more meaning. I’m now even more curious to read this book, especially with the added insight into the plot and the tension surrounding the police’s quest for a confession.

I have not read the book yet but yes I heard about the plot and storyline of “The Stolen Necklace.” from one of my friends who read it very recently. what she narrated was that the book in the initial stage was severely boring and she was going to close the book without completing …. but somehow she progressed with a few more pages halfheartedly  and then where the story took the speed and it came out with a wonderful meaning. She thanked herself for reading the book till the end.  After reading your review and the way you presented it gave me a good vibe and I am gearing up to get a copy of this book.
